Upgrade from 1.1.4 2G

I am using 16 GB 2G phone brought from US in Feb2008, jailbroken first with ziphone whereby bootloader was downgraded to 3.9; then restored and agains jailbroken with iplus.

Now I am facing problem with keypad for SMS, email, safari etc. : last row of space, numeric switch etc. in the keypad are not working. I presume it is software problem.

Please advise whether I should restore or upgrade, for upgrade from 1.1.4 which firmware would be the best and which programme should be used. Quickpwn or some other method. Should I use tutorials from iclarified or pl provide the best link for the suggested method.

I'm having itunes 7.6.2.9 on window pc. Can I restore to firmware 2.2.1 and then unlock through quickpwn. Should I use method detailed on iclarified or there is better explained method on this forum for non-technical person.

Try an upgrade to 2.2.1 first. If it doesn't works, then try a clean restore to 2.2.1. If it doesn't works, then is a hardware issue.
