update an unlocked iphone step by step

hi to all,
I would like to point out that it is my first time on the forum.
I would appreciate some help to understand a few things. I have purchased an unlocked Iphone in the US with software 1.0.2 and firmware 03.14.08_G . I am interested to update to version 1.1.1. and have looked around the various sites and have looked in this forum however i am a beginner and therefore need a step to step explanation from the moment i take the iphone in my hand, like if i was 4 years old.

1.1.2 is better than 1.1.1 and you can easily update to it anyways.

In general, I find people who tell you 1.1.1 is 'better' are actually saying 'I have no idea how to update to 1.1.2'.

No one has pointed out an actual reason why 1.1.1 is actually technical superior, to my knowledge.

maybe somebody should tell him, he first has to revirginize his 1.0.2 iphone before restoring to 1.1.1 if it was unlocked with anysim 1.0.x... just use the search button for virginize 1.0.2 and THEN search for an update and howto jailbreak activate unlock...
