Unlocking without an internet connection

I've already got the 1.02 firmware file for iPhone (iPhone1,1_1.0.2_1C28_Restore.ipsw 91.1Mb). Is it possible to force iTunes (Windows version) to update the firmware from a from file on my hard drive instead of downloading a fresh copy over the net?

If ur windows is in english.

U should press. Windows + R
Type (copy this)

%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes

Press ok
It will take u there and u must


create a folder call

iPhone Software Updates

There u put the update.

and ready to restore with itunes.

Press 'Control' and 'Shift' when you click restore, it should ask you to restore from file. I haven't tried this but I think it works

He asked for help because he didnt want to download the firmware.
I really dont know if the iTunes needs connection to restore.

But u should remove fin updtaes.

or shift as they said.
