Successful unlock yet problems persist.

Hey all,
I'm unlocking an iPhone for a friend (purchased from the US, serial number indicates week 44). This is my third iPhone unlock.

My own phone came with 1.0.2 and that went fairly well. Even upgraded to 1.1.1. Has been working for some months without any problem (thanks dev teams).

I unlocked a second phone (serial indicated week 28). I don't know the full details for that phone because the owner accidentally upgraded to 1.1.1 I think. I virginised, etc and got it working.

This third iPhone is proving to be a major pain. It came with 1.1.1 OoB. I went through the motions using the jailbreakme.com method. For some reason the first activation and jailbreak failed. Rebooted the phone, ran again. Jailbreak and activation was successful. I installed anySIM 1.1. Ran just fine. Phone was successfully unlocked. Inserted my SIM card from my working iPhone and nothing. Rebooted phone, still nothing. No WIFI, IMEI unknown, ICCID unknown, no bluetooth. Tried restoring several times but I kept getting the 1101 iTunes error. The was stuck in recovery mode. Independence 1.3 beta 2 got it out of recovery, but jailbreak, activation and even DFU mode all failed. I said eff it and restored with 1.1.2 firmware. That got rid of all the errors so far. I am at the itunes activation screen. I will keep you updated as I go along so I won't exclude anything. I am now at 1.1.2 with 04.02.13_G

Hit my first problem. I am following the instructions from hacktheifone.com or hacktheiphone.com. Step 4 on page one asked for independence 1.3 beta 2 to allow you to activate the phone. Unfortunately after many failed attempts with that version. I tried 1.2.5. That was successful. For the heck of it, I tried my working sim card in there. Yes it did find my local carriers but I am not able to selecet any of them (remember I had already unlocked 1.1.1). After a reboot. No Carriers show up and I get the use an approved SIM message.

I have also a carrier problem with my iphone.

I had a working iphone 1.0.2, unlocked with anysim for tmobile.
Then I tried to upgrade my phone to 1.1.2 (taken the normal steps, so first upgrading to 1.1.1). If I wanted to unlock the latest version I first had to go back to 1.1.1

Downgrated and fully activated, but now with the baseband 04.02.13g
I ran Anysim 1.2 but get an error at the end, so it was not unlocked.


Strangely, I can put in my tmobile sim and type my code and it seems to be unlocked. But then I get a carrier error.

Please help, I can't use my iphone for more than a week now and that is torture!

Followed all the instructions off hacktheiphone.com but no success in actually unlocking. I have confirmed my phone runs the older bootloader as well. WiFi works but no luck. I'll keep trying.
