I've been following it since page 22, got it all working for Belgium, now : what is framework supposedto do ?

It's a small iPhone application for calling framework phone related functions. It can be used to troubleshoot non-working Caller ID phone number matching. For example, you can decompose phone number strings, compare phone number strings, format phone number strings, get the country of the network you are connected to, etc...

EDIT: Never mind, I got it at the first attempt, thanks everyone :)

I'll probably ask something that has already been answered but there are so many pages I feel lost without even starting.

I've updated to 1.1.2, and edited the UIPhoneFormats.plist to add a format for italian cellphone numbers (3 digit prefix and 9 digit number) and now the dialpad correctly matches the numbers as I type (I save them on my adress book without the +39 country code).

However when I receive an SMS it's not correctly matched to the person on the adress book, so I assume I have to edit the AppSupport instead.
Is that right? If it's not too mch of an hassle could someone also clarify me how exactly am I supposed to do it?

This is getting great.

Tim, do you see any way to "fake" the country used by UIKit in formating the phone numbers? I know it set by the regional settings, but I truly believe that it should be the one of the "current" network.

Please I need some help here.

I tried to read the thread since page 22 (as aviegas noted before) but still don't know how to use Tim's programs and don't know which .plist I need to edit to match my settings in appsupport.

Could someone post a step by step newbie guide ;-) so I can follow it?

My settings are:

Country: Venezuela (ve)
Country Code: +58
IDD: 00
NDD: 0

PHone formats
+58 CCC 1234567 (CCC=City code)

When I receive a call or a SMS it can be:
0 CCC 1234567 or +58 CCC 1234567

I can place calls or send SMS as:
0 CCC 1234567
+58 CCC 1234567
1234567 (if it is the same carrier as me: Digitel)

I think this should work
ve 58 00 0 3 7
but since I don't know what to do I can do nothing...

PS: My girlfriend's cell number and my boss' landline number are almost the same: +58 412 1234567 and +58 212 1234567 does this help to identify each number?

here is the AppSupport I use with just the tables patched for Brazil.

not nescessary to save a copy of my address book cause this phone is from a friend and adreesbook is empty. just the test entry.

dialpad and framework gives the same results as before.

my contacts have just one entry named TESTE and number 0 41 (11) 8888-8888

and when i enter in dialpad just 8888-8888 it shows that im dialing to teste user.

Try:

ar 54 00 0 2 8
ar 54 00 0 3 8

The first handles the 011xxxx-xxxx, while the second will handle +54911xxxx-xxxx
