i found a fix that worked for me
i have tried pretty much everything and i'm not gonna open up my iphone. i've repaired an ipod with success before but i have crazy fat fingers that dont do well with little tiny stuff! lol
i have a 2g iphone :pie: that was running 1.1.4 flawlessly and decided to upgrade to 2.2.1, big mistake! my bluetooth started getting funky and other problems arose. i went back to 1.1.4 BUT interrupted the baseband and bootloader process with PwnageTool.
here is something that worked for me...i was getting the 1011 error from stopping the baseband and bootloader process during the "DONT INTERRUPT PROCESS!!" part......yeah i know, very stupid.
i've tried it all.....then i found this and it actually worked.
1st error 1011 then fixed but need repair cannot make calls and no wifi - iPhone Alley Forums
now i did the steps a little different but it worked!
1) Put in DFU mode and install Firmware 1.1.1,
2) Put in DFU mode and install Firmware 1.1.3,
(and this is what I did differently cuz i wanted 1.1.4 back)
3) Put in DFU mode and install 1.1.4,
4) then pwnd with Pwnage Tool (i think you can use whatever jailbreak software you prefer though)
5) installed the 1.1.4 Custom Firmware
and it worked.:D
now i know nothing about any of the process of what actually happens, but i got the result i needed without opening my iphone up. also, i must have tried restoring every different firmware version under the sun before that, but this did the trick.
