Question regarding downgrading different iPhones to 1.0.2

Most of the people who've downgraded seem to have an iPhone, which was previously unlocked, and updated with 1.1.1

IS there any differente if I do this with a BRAND new iPhone with 1.1.1 pre-installed? Will I get everything but the phone and have to wait till modem firmware gets downgraded?

Nope, it has been confirmed to work with new iPhones out of box. There is however some complicated procedures you have to go through to downgrade the modem firmware, but I am currently trying to make this process easier in a guide.
