I have a 1.1.1 activated phone which I unlocked. After the unlocking process was completed, I removed the AT&T sim and inserted the new SIM from a different company. The phone displays the message that a new SIM card was detected and that I need to connect to iTunes... does this sound right? Should I connect it to iTunes? I just want to use this other sim card temporarily while I am overseas (Venezuela), and plan to use the original AT&T sim once I get back to US. Please advise. Thanks.
well, connecting to itunes does not help. What am I doing wrong? Anysim said the phone was unlocked successfully.
i believe the sim you needed to unlock should have been in the phone during the unlock process
not necessary..he should have had the sim card in when he activated it. deactivate and reactivate with your new sim card in.Quote:

Doing some research last night I ran into a post where a lockdownd file is used to to overwrite the existing one. I did that and was able to use the phone with the new sim.
Just out of curiosity, is that the only way to re-active after inserting the new SIM?
