I have a US unlocked 1.1.1 iPhone, which up until today was connected to Vodafone UK work network.
Today we have moved over to o2 (:) )
Even though my phone is hacked, I expected to get the Visual Voicemail feature as I am now on a network that of course supports it.
I have seen the following snippet of info multiple times regarding getting VVM working on 1.1.2 phones :
ln -s /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/O2_UK.plist /var/root/Library/Preferences/com.apple.carrier.plist
rm -f /var/root/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist
it refers to some sort of re-initialisation of the 02UK config file to get these features working again.
Problem is, cos my phone is US generic, my phone does not have this O2_UK.plist file.
Can someone tell me if this file will make VVM work on my US hacked phone. If so, can someone paste the whole file into this thread, or allow me to download it from somewhere? I'm love to get VVM working on my iPhone!
The 1.1.2 firmware has the plist inside the CoreTelephony.framework for
So next stop is TIM italia for the iphone????
You need two things mate: 1) firmware 1.1.2, as it properly enables those files, including the o2 plist file even on a US model. 2) You need an actual iPhone service contract with o2 to get visual voicemail. Simply using o2 and an iPhone does not mean your voicemail will be visual, you need to have the iPhone service contract.

VV is done over edge, and theres edge and theres iphone edge. iphone edge requires an o2 contract...
try typing in *5005*86*xxx# where xxx is the voicemail number (902 for o2) into the keypad. itll make the phone dial voicemail when you press the button
even after installing 1.1.3 through iTunes and ZiPhone -a -j -u, i DON'T have the O2_UK.plist file in CoreTelephony.framework... Any ideas?
