NCK counter after Gunlock?

Hallo! Everytime you do a restore now (for some reason you want back a clean 1.1.3) you have to relock your baseband because it upgrades back to 4.03... and in order to use it again you have to do another unlock with ziphone... so basically you do as unlock as restore... What about the NCK counter? Is alwais a danger to consider?

I think the NCK counter only counts failed attempts (ie. entering the wrong NCK). If you need to issue the command after every reboot with IPSF-like unlocks, we would have already heard of problems cropping up.

As for the AnySIM-type unlocks, the AT command is never issued.

Hi, it may be a stupid question to ask but, do we have to worry about NCK counter/attempts if we use ziphone/geohot to unlock iPhone?

I have a 1.1.1 BL3.9 anysim unlocked and I am not sure about upgrading to 1.1.3 and ziphone unlock (if it will use another count).

I don't think the counter only counts failed attempts.

anySIM unlocked iPhones do not have any problem because they do not need to issue the AT commands to unlock the phone.

Also, the counter is only for failures. I do not think they have planned to count successful unlocks (because once it's done, it should be "done" :D ).

Beside, anyone doing a proper GeoIPSF is saving their seczones... right???? :D So, they can always revirginize it!

I see, so if I upgrade my iphone from 1.1.1 to 1.1.3, do I need to unlock it then?

No, ZI does not touch the seczone and therefore backup is not needed.

When you use this method, one of the step is dumping the current seczone (on the phone), you need to save it, copy it to your computer manually.
Please read the sticky on this method.

./norz seczone 0x3FA000 0x2000

A file named seczone will be created. This file is vital, please save it in a safe place, you need this file in case your seczone is ruined for whatever reason.

I did a "re-virgin" on my 1.0.2 (03.xx.xx BB) a long time ago using the Geohot fake IPSF server method. I took a seczone dump back then. That seczone remains the same even if BB is different now right?
