Is Jailbreakme.com not working?!

I've used it before, and it normally doesn't take too long, but I'm at the "Activate the iPhone" screen on 1.1.1 and I just ran Jailbreakme.com through the *#307# method and when I clicked "Install AppSnapp" the address bar went to the .tiff file, and then redirected all the way back to the Activate screen.

And of course, I've been patiently waiting for it to jailbreak and activate, but no dice. I've re-installed the 1.1.1 update using RESTORE and DFU mode, and still nothing.

I am guessing that my phone has been patched for the .TIFF exploit... So, is there anyway that I can uninstall the .TIFF exploit patch!?

It is acting really strange.
I've been having a hard time with jailbreakme.com as well.
I'm experiencing the same problem as well.

Damn. Know of any other Activation/Jailbreak methods for Windows?

I've been trying wiNstaller but it keeps rebooting to restore mode after it tries to jailbreak and activate. And of course piece of shit iNdepence is crashing on my Mac like crazy and doesn't like any fucking version of iTunes.

Kind of stressful. (I'm trying to update to 1.1.2)

where did u guys get ur 1.1.1 firmware from? as far as I understand the files available at apple website have the .tiff exploit fixed so jailbreakme.com is obviously not gonna work. try downloading the earlier .zip file, u'll find some links throughout forum posts

my 1.1.1 firmware was from the good old days....
I'm very sure of that.

dtube, any idea where I can get the original 1.1.1 firmware .ipsw file?

you can go to
modmyifone.com to and grab a copy from there. I'm downloading from there now to see if that makes a difference. The copy I have was downloaded from apple on 10/20/07 so I believe it still has the tiff exploit. I've used it many times after revirgin & upgrade for 1.0.2 phones and it was ok.

jailbreakme.com works. However, it's acting weird lately. It takes forever to it to work. WE might need a different source???:confused:

If your ultimate goal is unlocked 1.1.2, you don't need to go through 1.1.1/jailbreakme.com. Just run oktoprep from 1.0.2 and skip 1.1.1 altogether. Or if you have ssh and BSD on 1.0.2, skip oktoprep and execute "mknod /private/var/root/Media/disk c 14 1" yourself and then proceed directly to 1.1.2 Shift+Update. If you don't have BSD, just grab mknod from http://conceitedsoftware.com/iphone/zips/OktoPrep.zip

jailbreakme.com is very slow lately, and doing the above will save you lots of time.
