ipod function on iphone won't work (v.1.0.2)

Hi guys,

a friend of mine bought an iphone unlocked with the problem, that everytime when i presses the ipod button the phone goes to the mainmenu.

Then he wanted to install 1.0.2 or 1.1.1 again but now he has 1.1.2 on the iphone which will be activated (with iTunes and AT&T). He has now no idea what to do.


The point is, he made me an real good offer for this phone, but i first want to check if everything is ok with the phone so i ask you experts (especially the point with the ipodthing made me worried).

Did you try a restore after having issues with iPod function ?
which firmware are you running now ? and which firmware do you want ?
If you are on 1.1.2, your baseband is now different, and I think you want to use the iPhone with its last version 1.1.2, right ? So, downgrade to 1.0.2 unlock with anySIM1.2 and then 1.1.1 install OktoPrep and update 1.1.2, jailbreak + change lockdownd and you will be fine.... OR
downgrade to 1.0.2, reflash baseband, upgrade to 1.1.1 (or not) and unlock with anySIM1.1
These 2 options is assuming you are running 1.1.2, as I understood in your post...

Now it's 1.1.2 and locked (it wants to get unlocked over itunes with an AT&T contract).

And I want to have 1.1.2 unlocked.

How did he try to downgrade? 1.1.2>.1.1.1>1.0.2 or 1.1.2>1.0.2 ?
however, try 1 and then try the other... also, errors (2003 / -50 / 1015 /1) can you be a lil more detailed ?what was he trying to downgrade when he got each error ?
