iphone locked after software update

ok so i just bought this iphone off of my friend. it already had cydia and installer on it but when i used them it just didnt work . Anyways i just popped in my rogers sim card which is on minutes and it was working fine, until......

itunes recommended that i get the latest software update which i did
and now my phone is in some wack mode and where the restore button usually is it says "please insert a supported sim card" something like that.

so ive been doing alot of research because i hardly know anything on this topic and i'm pretty sure i need help, .

it was a 2g iphone using 2.2.1 until i updated it

the guide did not help because the files it told me to download did not exist anymore, also theres no option for me to extract red snow

i dont get it i have redsnow saved in the pwnage folder but when i right click it there is no extract button :(

also when i click the - BL 3.9 and - BL 4.6 link it says error 404 page does not exist, i dont understand why i get these problems

Hello I feel your pain the same thing happen to me I have been working and even paid 34.99 and it is still locked :(

yeah sucks but im determined to find a soloution considering i bought this ting for a bill fifty,

anyways i just downloaded the files off different places because the link on iclarified was not working for me so im hoping this goes well

ok i finnaly have redsn0w zip folder and when i extract it says there is already a file with that name but there isnt because i checked, also it creates a blank file with that name everytime i try to extract god i hate vista
