IMEI 0049, no deal, nothing is working (restore phone functionality)

Please help!
This is really going wrong!

Scenario:
Wi-Fi: OK
Bluetooth: OK
IMEI: 0049...
BLUETOOTH MAC: SHOWS OK
WI-FI MAC: SHOWS OK

A friend brought me his iPhone, it was bricked (0049) and running 1.1.1
I have tried EVERYTHING!!! Nothing is unbricking, lets say that the brick is bricked, or the lock is locked.
Wi-Fi works, everything seems to work, the phone, NOT

What i've done:

Your bootloader was never 4.

Okay, this may sound completely out of left field, and some of you guys on this board might accuse me of wichcraft, but I'm going to say it anyway, as it's helped me get back my IMEI MANY, MANY times:

ANYSIM 1.02

Yes, you heard me right - USE ANYSIM 1.02.

I know, I know - I'm FREAKN' CRAZY! Just hear me out.

If you've ever unlocked your phone with AnySIM 1.02, you'll agree that 1.02 + FW 1.0.2 works like a charm right? It's not until you go to 1.1.1 where the corruption actually happens. By using 1.02 at this point basically what you are doing is getting the phone an unlocked state (just like before an upgrade to 1.1.1 was attemped).

So do what you did - Restore to 1.0.2 and activate / jailbreak it - if it has an IMEI number of 0049, install AnySIM 1.02 and run it - let it go through its unlocking process - after it's done, reboot and check your IMEI - it should match the number on the back of your phone.

From there, you can run a virginize script (which will kill ANYSIM 1.02 anyway), and you wil retain your IMEI. Do a DFU restore to 1.02, and then go to 1.1.1 any way you like.

Basically we are using AnySIM 1.02 repair its own damage - it does a pretty good job!

did it work? with the anySIM 1.0.2? I am in a similar situation, IMEI 0049, no wifi etc.

Thanks drakkhen for your messege. I should try it. I have a friend's iphone that was bricked when updated by mistake to 1.1.1. I restored the phone to 1.0.2 and erased the baseband then reflashed the 1.0.2 baseband and used anysim 1.2. I noticed the IMEI number was miss matched.

yes you must upgrade to 1.1.2 if you want a chance to make it working. then you can downgrade back to 1.0.2 and use anysim 1.2.1u and unlock it, or simply downgrade to 1.1.1 and oktoprep it and back to 1.1.2, then jailbreak, then substitute lockdown file, then wait for a working anysim version.

p.s. domanda per iRev: la versione di anysim 1.2 sul tuo repo è quella per fw 1.1.2 downgradato a 1.0.2, giusto?
