AppSupport Patch enables almost all countries, just a few are not supported. On the other hand to make it working, your contacts all have to start with the international prefix fpr the country like +49 for Germany. If you did not organize all contacts this way you may have to retype them in again.
You could try making AppSupport also understand the numbers without the international prefix. To do this, you have to add them in that form in /System/Library/Frameworks/AppSupport.framework/Support/PhoneNumberTemplates2.plist. The thread to which volkspost linked may have the right section in this plist file -- I hope you can find it in the 130+ pages.
I see Volkspost handing out some really good advice in this thread (what brown nosing... me?) and I'm hoping he or someone else can give me a deffinative answer on something.
I'm in the UK, using a UK OTB 1.1.2 on T-Mobile which I unlocked using a combination of jailbreak, Ibrikr and a TurboSIM. It took me about 4 hours at the time to unlock (with the help of Hackintosh I shoudl add) , but was well worth the pain.
Recently the phone has been loosing signal and regaining and loosing and regaining randomly. I believe this to be a TurboSIM issue (as it has done it previosuly, just only from time to time).
I now want to use the latest Softmod tools (Zipphone and/or iliberty) to upgrade to 1.1.4 and get rid of the need for TurboSIM.
There are several conflicting posts (here and elsewhere) on the best way of doing this. The order I need to remove/add/run software... do I take the TurboSIM out, my T-Mobile SIM out and when... do I need to wipe/restore the phone first... etc.
I've tried desperately to go it alone, I really have... but am now holding out a hand and asking for a little guidence. What have you heard, what do you know... can you help?
It doesn't really matter when you change chips, I'd first take the TurboSIM out, put any chip in the phone, and then do a full restore to 1.1.4 (in DFU mode so it is "fuller") and then go on with the rest: either Pwnage or iLiberty. The forum will give you a pretty clear idea of the pros and cons of each -- basically, if you want to put more than one phone in a certain configuration, or you think you'll want to restore from time to time to a chosen configuration, or you want to try out the 2.0 firmware, Pwnage is your friend; otherwise iLiberty is a bit easier.

Iliberty is not working with my 1.1.2 otb iphone. I had it working for about 5 months using xsim and then I decided to upgrade to 1.1.4 by itunes and then when the process finished with iliberty my iphone still was blocked. I dont know whats happening. Any ideas
restore to 1.1.4??
I have 1.1.2 OTB and using via stealth sim..
I want to upgrade to 1.1.4 but the tutorial iliberty says to restore fone to 1.1.4 before countinuing with the tutorial.
Can any1 pls tel me how to do tis and also do I need 2 use stealth sim or scrap it??
restore your phone using firmware 1.1.4. You do this via itunes.
After that, you phone will be locked and not activated.
You then use iLiberty. check mark on jailbreak, activate, unlock, installer, bsd, international payload if needed. Click go for it.
No need to use the stealth sim anymore. You put in the provider real SIM card. You may want to do this prior restoring to 1.1.4
try 1 more time, i had the same problem but the second time it worked for me, put your phone in DFU mode after that follow the procedure explained by dtube below, normally it have to work, also check do you have to downgrade your bootloader while jailbreaking....
