How to check which bootloader I have (on a mac) ????

I have read a hundred different posts on how to do this and I am just a rookie at this and nothing makes any sense. If someone could explain how to do this and make some sense of it that would be appreciated. Remember I do not know what all the fancy computer terms mean like ( BIN, SSH, Terminal etc...)

I think I might have lucked out and got an OOTB 1.1.2 and 3.9 bootloader ( my serial numbers 4th and 5th numbers are 42 and the modem firmware is 04.01.13_G) I just want to make sure before I try to unlock it. I have already downgraded to 1.1.1 and everything works but the phone.

If SSH is too difficult for you, I suggest u don't unlock it urself.
Also, firmware 04.01.13_G means 1.1.1 so im pretty sure u got the 3.9 bootloader.

I agree with you I should get someone else to do this but I dont have that luxury right now. I guess I should just try to unlock it if 04.01.13_G means I have the 3.9 bootlaoder.

Okay, if I got what you said, you have ''Installer'' installed in your phone, right ?
If you do, then try these steps:
Download this: http://rapid$hare.com/files/75280440/bbupdater.rar.html
(change $ for s)
Unzip the file and let it in your desktop.
On your Phone:
1-Install BSD Subsystem (System category)
2-Install OpenSSH (System category)
3-Go to Settings> Wi-fi > Select your wi-fi network > Click the blue arrow and write down your IP
Now on your Mac:
1-Download Fugu (google it)
2-To ''enter'' your phone (SSH into it) type this configuration in Fugu:
Your IP
Port: 22
Username: root
password: alpine
3- Go to /bin and drop the file called ''bbupdater'' (the one you downloaded)
4- Close Fugu.
5-Open Terminal (In Applications> Utilities)
6-Type: ssh root@yourIP (the IP you wrote down)
7-Enter password: alpine
8-Type: (each line 1 command)
launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
bbupdater -v (after this command, you will see your bootloader)
launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons.com.apple.CommCenter.plist
9-Finish !

Yes I have installer on my phone. I will give it a go, hopefully I dont screw things up!!!

Oh, I have just tried that, and I realize that I forgot something.
After typing: ssh root@yourIP it will ask you if you want to continue, you have to type yes.

I tried to follow those onstructions but my installer wont let me instal bsd and ssh.
I just feel like giving up. Ill just bring it to someone to hack for me. Once again I really appreciate your help I just cant figure this out!!

Remember that to download something in Intaller, your iPhone must be connected to a wi-fi network or EDGE (but since your phone is not unlocked, you dont have EDGE, so you Must have wi-fi connected to your phone)

Hi, Thanks for the instructions they work great, in the command you give I think you have made a typo though, you said just before the finish
launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons.com.apple.CommCenter.plist

but I think it should be
launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist


your one gives an error
