Hi, ive had my phone since November, not bought as part of an 02 contract and i connected it to my laptop today to sync song songs onto it, and the firmware decided to install itself, and now itunes is telling me i need to activate it, which i cant do without paying a further £210.
is there a way to bypass this or somehow downgrade? because im now left unable to use my phone.
im not the most tech-savy person, so please try and dumb it down for me
PM me or email me
give more information, wich firmware it was, wich is it now, and for what i know, firmwares don't install by themselves... and you can also search in the forum
DON'T panic... :)

I had this when I upgraded from an 8Gb to 16Gb iPhone.
When you go to activate it choose the option for exsisting O2 customer then enter your O2 iPhone contract mobile number, and you'll be fine.
When it happened to me I phoned O2 to check with them to may sure I only was going to be billed for one contract and they assured me if the mobile number is the same as your O2 iPhone contract is, they won't invoice it twice.
Hope this helps
He hasn't bought it on a 02 contract he said.
But yeah your going to have to explain more mate, like firmware before etc
i bought the phone with version 1.1.2 and it installed by itself (or accidently hit enter) without realising and now the phone is unusable without registering.
anything else needed?
