Got a replacement from Apple - Activated 1.1.1
OK, here's my story...
I had nothing better to do with my time so I decided to virginize my cool 1.02 and update to 1.1.1
I messed up royally, left with a brick, no wifi, imei 0049, etc...
After a couple of days, i got back to 1.02 working, but still no wifi. ( tried different method from this post multiple times )
So I bought a prepaid ATT sim, went to an Apple Store (somewhere in the NE US).
They did an upgrade to 1.1.1 and voila! told me that the phone was IMEI 0049.
Now, the interesting thing I learned last week. When you remove the sim and reinsert it, the IMEI resets to the normal one.
So back to Apple store... they sent me home. I went outside the store, removed the sim, reinserted it, and the IMEI matched.
To make a long story short, they gave me a replacement, 1.1.1 FW, and activated already.
Now my question to you guys: How should I proceed to Unlock it?
