Apple UK FAQ: Euro iPhone really simlocked ?
Everyone has been saying that the iPhone will be simlocked in Europe but is that really so ?
Apple UK FAQ states:
"Can I use the SIM card from my current mobile phone?
You should use the SIM card that came pre-installed in the iPhone."
So I should, but I am not obliged ?
BTW: As on has to close a contract anyway when buying an iPhone in Europe I cannot see a point locking the phone as the carrier gets the money anway. The situation is different from the US where one can buy an iPhone without contract.
Also I see no point for O2 forcing a client to use the iPhone when he doesnt like it anymore. From O2s point of view it would be better if the client sold the iPhone and buys another phone and makes plenty of calls under his O2 contract.
