Hey iNinja here.
I was wondering if there is any point to upgrading my iPhone to 1.1.2? Will I lose everything?

It's a personal choice.
Not really, and Yes you will lose everything.
If you upgrade from an unlocked 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 you won't lose everything. I've done it using Sassha's guide. It really is a personal choice but I did it so i can upload customs ringtones using itunes.
isn't 1.1.2 significantly faster?
Well if u have an unlocked 1.1.1 then it only takes about 15 mins to upgrade to 1.1.2, even for people new to unlocking.
This is just getting silly - the 'personal choice' angles.
Sure, upgrading any device you own is a personal choice, i guess.
But ultimately:
- 1.1.2 seems faster.
- 1.1.2 seems like you get better battery life.
- 1.1.2 DEFINITELY crashes apps less.
All in all, there is little reason to say with 1.1.1. The 1.1.2 unlock works fine and if you're holding out for an 'official' unlock one is never coming.
'official'. irony...
1.1.2 is 100% faster than 1.1.1.
A side by side comparison of opening applications will more than prove this to you.
In fact, if you use ONE finger to open the same application on both 1.1.1 and 1.1.2, and you press the 1.1.1 phone first (giving it a fraction of a second head start), 1.1.2 will STILL open the application before 1.1.1 will.
Test it out yourself. I had four people with me when I showed them on their iPhones. All of them agreed that 1.1.2 was undeniably faster.
Which method are you referring to here, there seems to be so many, and they all seem longer than 15 minutes.
Can you post a link to this easy method? Many Thanks if you can.
I would like to upgrade to 1.1.2 as i have a 1.1.1 unlocked presently, that I unlocked myself starting back at 1.0.2, but have been hesitant for this last update.
Cheers
