{advice/solved} Iphone in dfu mode

I think I screw up majorly this time. I currently own a 1.0.2 iphone hacked with the original unlocking method, the one before anysim. Since the installer is not allowing me to download software needed to revirginize the phone, I figure that a system restore back to 1.0.2 would fix the problem. However, When I try to system restore back to 1.0.2, itune is giving me error 4 saying the restore is unable to complete and I am stuck in recovery telling me to connect to itune. Is there anythign that I can do????

This is the error I got from Itune.

Iphone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (4)

I have the same error ...still waiting for Help on this one.

Have 1.0.2 iphone unlocked

My Phone was working great since August of last year 2007 with R...gers here in Canada.

Thank god i backed everything up from my iphone to my computer...
you know contacts...pictures...calander...etc...etc

Have you tried to Restore with itunes...push down Shift...right click on Restore...pop up window appears find 1.0.2.ipsw and open....itunes will try to install 1.0.2.ipsw for you.

To make 1.0.2.ipsw just down load iPhone 1.0.2 firmware and the just rename it to 1.0.2.ipsw ..put it in a file on your desktop call it iPhone firmware ...

They ask you to REMOVE THE SIM CARD

I tried to restore my phone with 1.0.2 method but when I try to restore it with restore+shift normally, it give me an error 4 and when I try it in dfu mode, it gave me error 1601. I try to uninstall all apple related stuff and tried again, same error. And I can't go anything above 1.0.2 since I never revirginize my phone.

So when you turn on the iPhone the Grey apple shows up and then the

Please Connect to iTunes

stays on ...

To put you iphone out of recovery mode use ibrickr download it from here:

http://ibrickr.com/downloads/ibrickr_v0.91.zip

The itunes errors you are having are probably because of itunes problems not your iphone.

Try reinstalling itunes, don't go to ver 7.7 yet try staying on 7.5 or 7.6.

to fix your installer follow this guide:

That should help you fix your installer and virginize. after that you can go to 1.1.4 or 2.0.

HOW TO RECOVER FROM RECOVERY.....

Ok..progress so far July 28, 2008 4:55 MST

Start ..Control Panel..add and Remove:

itunes
Apple Mobile Device Support
Apple Software Update
Quicktime

Start ....Search...all files and Folders...for itunes...

removed everything to do with itunes.

restart computer

Load ....iBrickr download itunes 7.5

Start up itunes ..start up ibrickr..

Click boot at ibrickr to restore downloading 1.0.2 from ibrickr

ibrickr working
Restoring iPhone software
Verifing iPhone Software
Restoring iPhone Firmware...
