I don't get Installer Update or any other updates and I can't download BSD subsystem! "Error - Package download failed"!Quote:
3.3 Start Installer on the iPhone and let it refresh sources. A window will pop up saying "Installer Update" is available, hit "Update Now". Go back to springboard and start Installer again. On the bottom you will see a red circle, "1" in it at "Update", hit "Update" (on the bottom). A new window will show "Community Sources", hit "Update All" (on top). When done go back to springboard (leave Installer).
3.4 In Installer select "Install" (on the bottom), goto "All Packages" and install "BSD Subsystem".
edit: I pressed "refresh" in source section and Installer update started. Does it matter that I rebooted my iphone few times when trying to get those updates working?
No problem at all. Just make sure to have BSD Subsystem on the iPhone and BootNeuter later on. To check if you got BSD Subsystem you may hit "Uninstall" (bottom) in Installer. If you see BSD Subsystem then, you got it. Dont uninstall it, just check. After that you need BootNeuter and continue.Quote:

I'm not really all that good with computers, and haven't had that much experience with phones so I pretty much searched the the entire web for the best way to free up the phone. I found that Volkspost's detailed and easy to understand answers to a question on how to install ILiberty+ was really the most clear explanation I had read anywhere. I followed the steps and jailbroke, activated and unlocked the phone with no problems, changed the BL to 3.9FB.
The phone worked good other than the usual YouTube issue. I used it for about three weeks and read up some more and decided to redo the process to fix YouTube and use BootNeuter. Again it was a well written explanation by Volkspost that I followed. I did the DFU restore, unlocked and activated with iLiberty+, then intalled BootNeuter and BSD. I set BL 4.6, Neuter ON, and FakeBlank OFF, and was actually sort of amazed at how fast the process took, maybe ony a couple of minutes.
The bottom line is the newly Bootneutered version on 4.6 fixed the YouTube issue and made both Wifi and Edge run much faster. Probably the best thing is that the battery lasts about twice as long as it had before.
Big thanks Volkspost. It's a good thing when a teacher/Mod remembers that everyone started from scratch at some point.
