maybe a guitar pickup can help.
I read somewhere that a flat screwdriver covered with duct-tape to prevent scratches can do the work of the plastic tool , but I never tried.
GREAT tip with the tape!! worked perfectly! Tnx mate!:D
btw - used those stiff plastic thingies you get for your shirt collar together with a screwdriver w tape on to open the rest of the cover.
Inside cover proved harder where we used a hard plastic spatula!!!!
Creativity rocks :)
The tape trick works!! just amazing, It cant be easier, i used some cheap tape, 3 layers to make it stronger, pull it and is done!.
This is how I have done it:

Awsome Idea with the tape just wish the rest was as easy :D
Yeah the case is the toughest ...
Remember the silver case doesn't affix to the base like the black antenna cover.. so don't think that if you lift with screwdriver it would do the job.. NO.
use guitar pick (as other suggest) or best iphone opening tool ($5 or around).. the one with star shape (+ sign) handle.. and if needed chk this link for the video.. search pdaparts.com on youtube (iphone disassemble)...
To remind you again.. u have to insert some thin / hard plastic through the metal cover in-between the cover & gray metal bar and lift slightly from within at the tabs.. learn about the tabs from ifixit.com & pdaparts.. video.. the tabs are on the gray metal at double the height from the grove on the antenna cover.. so u have to insert your tool close to that and lift.. making sure not to lift just the edge.. as this will bring some permanent bend to your cover... make sure you understand everything before you jump into doing it... Also the testpoint A is very minute.. hard (extremely) to do it thru naked eyes.. BUT can be done..
2 tips: Patience and courage.
Good luck..
EDIT: Don't worry about probing things on to the top side.. as its not needed.. (no tabs at the top).. doing this will just cause the cover to bend..
Thanks man! You're the best:D
Ok, I have suffered with the low volume cause I could not get the antenna cover off.
The tape thingy worked perfectly.
Use Duct tape and two layers so it does not tear.
Now, I would not do this multiple times as I would image that the tabs would brake.
Nevertheless, it was easy and worked perfectly.
Thanks!!!!
