[1.1.2 OTB, Geohot HW unlocked] Best tutorial for upgrading?

Hey all -

Quick question...there's a ton of tutorials and links floating around for jailbreaking/activating/unlocking 1.1.4 iPhones, and so I was wondering whether anybody was kind enough and familiar enough with them to recommend one for my situation:
* bought a 48wk 1.1.2 OOTB (4.6 BL)
* waited ~2 months, unlocked using the hardware method to downgrade the BL;
* right now using 1.1.2 on T-Mobile (US) with 04.02.13_G, 3.9 BL

Also, how well did 3rd party apps fare in the upgrade? Do they still work (generally)?
