Yep, thats correct, just restore to 1.1.4 and then use iLiberty, it's easy.

Just one tipp: Once you got your iPhone upgraded, jailbroken, activated and unlocked at 1.1.4, you will probably connect to iTunes to get you stuff back on it.

iTunes then will over to "recover data from backup". Dont use this option. Instead use "setup as a new iphone".

Reason is that Apple changed user etc starting with 1.1.3 and using the backup of settings will - in lots of cases - lead to problems.

Just go ahead, it is pretty easy.
