1.0.2 to 1.1.1 Upgrade Accident
Okay, I decided to create a new thread to help reduce the clutter in the mega threads in this forum for my purposes.
I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and bought an unlocked Apple iPhone with the 1.0.2 (possibly 1.0.1) firmware version from a Fido store. Today, I updated my firmware to 1.1.1, not knowing the effects of the 1.1.1 update with unlocked phones. I am flustered to find easy to understand methods to fix my iPhone.
I have heard of downgrading my firmware from 1.1.1 back to 1.0.2, but I am reading mixed reports of the baseband not being able to be downgraded. Is this absolutely true?
At the very least, I would like to be able to recover my address book from my iPhone. Is this possible? Also, as for computer, I am using Microsoft Windows XP (Service Pack 2).
I really hope I can fix my iPhone to work on the Fido network again.
I am willing to pay any person $200.00 (CAD or USD) to whoever can help me fix my iPhone, completely or partially.
