And Easter Egg Bunny will be replacing Santa's on our Xmas day, as he is on a spa after all requests he had for 1.1.2 SIM unlock befor Xmas.
True story, i read on the news.

The OP mentioned it being possible to use an AT&T sim card with an iphone. So this means that I could possibly use the sim that came with my 8525 in a jailbroken iphone 1.1.2 from the factory?
Or do I have it all wrong?
If so, what is the method to do this? I would like to purchase a new iphone, so it would most likely ship with 1.1.2, but I do not want to switch carriers -- just use the sim out of my AT&T 8525 with it, since I am already on a business plan.

- If you buy a new US or UK iPhone with 1.1.2 firmware, which by default has the new bootloader, there is currently no software based unlock solution
- You can jailbreak and activate these phones (which means you'll have an iPod Touch), but cannot make calls unless you are on an "approved" network (below)
- If you have an O2 or ATT SIM, you may be able to make calls by following one of the guides on this forum
PLEASE STOP ASKING WHAT YOU SHOULD DO WITH A NEW, OUT OF THE BOX 1.1.2! When there is an unlock solution for this phone, you will see it here.
The dev team are working on it. Please do not ask how long there will be to wait. Please do not ask why Anysim does not work. Please do not ask what you should do with a new UK phone. Please read some of the threads to educate yourself before wasting your bandwidth asking the same question that has been asked about 50 times in the last week!
Ok I have a question: can I unlock out of the Box 1.1.2 Iphone?

Yep pretty easy, heres the guide:
1- Connect phone to PC, start itunes.
2- Give them your credit card info when asked.
3- Enjoy your iphone.
