Please Help, EDGE (Internet) Stopped Working
Hi Everyone -
I've had a fully working iphone for a while now. I purchased it direct from Apple and unlocked it to work on Unicel here in Vermont. The phone, SMS, and EDGE Network all worked perfectly until 2 days ago when the EDGE (internet) connection stopped working out of the blue. I was checking the weather on the phone, and stock prices and browsing using Safari all day long (as usual) and then all of a sudden it stopped connecting.
I've reset the connection 3 times, restarted the phone many times, and cannot connect.
Wi-Fi works perfectly fine.
Unicel says there is no outage on the network, but I know that they must have made an intentional change to stop the iphone from connecting.
What do I do?
Thanks!!

Welcome to the club. By my count you are the fourth to post this problem. search 'unicel' to see the other posts. It is definately a unicel server change. We need to keep calling it in. Maybe its an honest mistake on the techs part. I haven't gotten to speak with anybody with any networking skills yet.
Call again and let them know its not just you!

Hey guys - same issue here. Can I ask what geography you are in? I'm in the Burlington, VT area.

I live in Burlington, VT. I called in the problem, and they said they had no idea why it would stop working. I use the phone for work and need to be online all day long, not sure if they had some sort of legal problem with AT&T where they were forced to stop us from using the phone??

Woodstock VT here... Also used it off network today, Unicel Plus world in NH and the same DNS issues. I wonder if they're keying in the IMEI range and disabling that. Unicel SIM + ATT IMEI range= we'll screw with DNS settings?

CONFIRMED TODAY FROM UNICEL:
The change was intentional. The change was made Friday. The change was made to stop all non-unicel network phones from accessing unicel services. They want only phones that were purchased from unicel to be able to connect to unicel.
