Permanent activation
I don't know if this has been discussed earlier but is there a patched lockdownd for 1.1.1 that allows for permanent activation like we had for 1.0.2? Would be great to have.

All it did was remove the need to activate different SIMs. Thus, if your phone was unlocked (using any one of the methods available at 1.0.2), AND you had the factory-activated lockdownd file on your phone, then you could hot-swap SIM cards from any carrier and they would instantly work
i can do this
and i did not use iAsign to activate any of my sim cards
my sim card was activated before i used the web version of iAsign (i could see my carrier name and make calls)
cheers

Well, as I said in the other thread, if anyone believes they have a "factory-activated" lockdownd file for 1.1.1 I'd love to take a look at it. It would be a big advancement for the community if such a file were to exist.

hi,
the file i used for activation is a 1.0.2 file from here (http://rapid$hare.com/files/63231299/lockdownds.zip.html)
i placed this file in the usr/libexec/ and chmod it to 0755
then i replaced the iphoneactivation.pem file in the system/library/lockdown with the file provided in the dev team 1.1.1 jailbreak release and instead of using putty, i used ulctl to unload and reload com.apple.mobile.lockdown...
this gave me an activated iphone
Edit: someone else is also reporting that unlockin 1.1.1 with the touch free method followed by replacing the original lockdown file with the 1.0.2 one results in an activated state (no need for putty or iasign)

Thanks -- now I just need to track down a wireless network so I can try it out -- I'll report back later tonight.
