There's a reference and download link to the patched lockdownd in the guide named [ULTIMATE GUIDE] Jailbreak/Activate/Unlock Virgin iPhones v1.1.1 which btw is the first sticky post in this forum.

Go to the activation step and you'll see that it talks about 3 files. the one named lockdownd.swap is the patched one. I tested it yesterday, worked ok.

But can you sync your phone with the 1.0.2 lockdown under 1.1.1?

I tried two different lockdownd files that were alleged to have been "patched" or "factory-activated" for 1.1.1. One of them caused my iPhone to stall on reboot (I couldn't get past the apple boot screen, but could still ssh into my phone and restore my standard-issue 1.1.1 lockdownd file).

This link, http://rapid$hare.com/files/63231299/lockdownds.zip.html, however, contained three files, and the lockdownd.swap DOES appear to "factory-activate" your 1.1.1 iPhone.

I had previously activated my iPhone for two different SIMs, so I tried my wife's SIM (for which I had never performed an activation on my phone), and the phone now recognizes this new SIM as automatically activated for my phone.

    Brilliant!

(The alleged "factory-activated" lockdownd file for 1.1.1 that caused me problems was the one located at this link: http://rapid$hare.com/files/63127684/lockdownd -- and the date stamp on this file is different than the one I used above -- so I would recommend using the lockdownd.swap file that I talked about earlier in this post).

alright, i just did what i think is the ultimate test to check for factory activation.
installed a new sim (cingular) and synced my iphone with itunes...i tunes correctly recognizes the new sim (shows my phone no.)
then i removed the sim and installed my old sim and synced again, again itunes recognized my old sim and synced (some ppl reported that they could not sync with itunes after applying certain lockdown files, this test is to test just that)

ldhilljr I've seen the stall on boot problem you described. In my case it stemmed from the permissions of the lockdownd file not being the same as the lockdownd file it replaced. Once I fixed the permissions it worked.
