CEB, i have many friends, im very popular, and really i think im a serious mac user to!!!

Off course you dont have to answer my question, but it could be very interesting to know how you managed to get this working on CWP as for me i just thought it was not possible for the reasons i already explained.

    deadzone,

You said you had it working using the minicom and got it working by deactivating the SIM PIN?? Can you confirm?

I think there most be something like a VM service number that can be stored on the SIM just as the SMS service number.

As you can read from some of my last posts I have a friend with a C&W SIM and the voice mail works perfectly for him regardless of which Iphone put his SIM on. We have tested it in 4 iphone so far and work perfectly with out changing anything.

Can you confirm if you can program a SIM this way? I about to go to C&W and ask them to do it but it will be nice if I can do it myself.

    jsalva,

Yes u can program the VM using the minicom but for me it hasent worked unless is a Movistar SIM.

U can reprogram the SIM to add the voicemail number ( in fact its allready in every sim from CWP under "correo de voz" ) but it wont do much.

There is something on the way you unlock and activate the phone that im trying to find out. This is what i wanted CEB to confirm but i think he got it personal.

I also know people that have the VM working under CWP, but it only worked if they created a contact VOICE MAIL and then put it on favorite.

I really dont know whats making the VM to work, but it would be very possitive for us in Panama to help each other!!!

    deadzone,

I agree with you 100 % we should be helping each others.

Going back to the VM thing, you know why I donít think this is a "unlock way" issue?

Because I have unlocked 4 phones so far, all of them using the following guide: http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6637 and only in one the VM key worked since day one of the unlocking.

Now if I take that SIM and put it on the other 4 phones unlocked using the same method it works!!! On all 4 of them!!!! And it does not work with the other 3 SIM's, so Iím almost 100 % convinced that it has something to do with the SIM programming.

How can you compare the programming of the 2 SIMīs?

I never take things personal... I just don't like repeating myself, no matter what. Cheers, CEB

    jsalva,

I dont know how to compare sims, but can you confirm if the sim you got working is phisically the same as the others? We need to find the difference thats making some work and others dont.

    deadzone,

Confirmed both Sims are physically the same. Another interesting fact is that my friend told me that he was able to change his SIM pin, I cant, not even on another phone.

Also if I use the *5005*86*1111# in my iphone with my SIM and then try the VM key nothing happens but if after entering the code I change Sims and put a Movistar sim on it then my phone and use the VM key it will dial 1111, of course Iíll get a recording saying that the number is invalid because thatís not the VM number.

But the interesting fact is that the phone is actually getting programmed to use that number but for some reason the SIM is not letting him dial it.

    what else can we do?

Some info about the iPhone I unlocked with CW:

    - The iPhone recognized the voicemail number from my CW Postpago SIM card. It even had the red circle to indicate an old message. The voicemail icon updates with the # of new messages.

    - I cannot deactivate my SIM PIN using my iPhone or my old Nokia.

    - My SIM card is about 4-5 years old.

    Macniatic,

Can you check with another sim from C&W and confirm if your phone also dials the VM with the VM key. It needs to be with another C&W SIM since we know that with movistar it works fine.

    Thanks
