thats the thing it isn't saying i do have it but it runs all the way to the end and softstarts the iphone. But it hasn't really installed it

brasuco, thanks for making another great app, PACAY was a great tool....I wanted to know if this works with both methods of jailbreaking either using the symlink or tiff exploit??? and if it works with the symlink does the phone need to be upgraded to 1.1.1 after symlink is created or on 1.0.2. with symlink created if that makes sense?

That might be a bug in installer. Nevertheless, let's figure this out.

I'm installing it on my phone right now to see how it goes.

One thing, make sure your iPhone does not lock itself. The BSD subsyste is quite a large package and the phone might enter in sleep mode. To make sure that doesn't happen, turn the auto-lock off during the installation process.

I've designed everything around the TIFF exploit.

CARNAVAL goes through the process with you step by step, you just need to follow CARNAVAL's instructions, nothing more.

Even though it's designed this way, you can choose to start the jailbreak processs through the downgrade method. The only thing you have to make sure is to make a Symbolic Link in the place of the Media folder that points to /
Also, rename the original media folder as 'Mediaold' (and not 'Media.old' as indicated in some tutorials).

But you don't have to worry about any of this. Just follow the instructions on the screen and everything should work fine.

Thanks basuco everything works except itunes wont let me sync itunes gives me this error itunes cant read the contents of this phone "^1" go to sumarry tab blah blah blah blah...

Any ideas

Yeah, I'm having the same problem. I'm also having the 300mb limit on Itunes.

I'm restoring as we speak.

Cool thing though is that I had virginize my phone then ran AnySim 1.1.1 on 1.0.2 to unlock. After using Carnival I did not have to re-unlock. It seems my phone is pertinently unlocked until the next FW update.

What was the rest of the error message?

got to the sumary tab and restore to factory settings, but once you do that you are back at square one

Some people are reporting CARNAVAL is jumping one of the reboots.
