If you're using fw 1.1.1, the problem you have is probably due to a bug in CARNAVAL that already has been fixed. The download link has been updated.

Try downloading the newer version and running everything over again.
You should start restoring your phone first to version 1.1.1, then run CARNAVAL.

I am running fw 1.1.1 as well as I have the latest update of the program. I believe its in the jailbreak step. When I do the *#307# it is also different. I get a caller id as 1 and have both accept and decline buttons. I accept then hold then decline to get to the settings. Once I click the prefs url and then back to activation, it wont let me dial *#307# again. It just ignores it and brings me back to the dial screen. I have to reboot then dial again. As well the tiff page always times out the first time. I am on a open wifi no security, and other pages load fine

I did a fresh restore and it still doesn't work. Looks like it goes through the motions but says sending to file failed. Then asks to reboot phone etc...Goes through the motions, but nothing happens.

ok - your wifi connection has to be rock solid. you have encryption on your wifi? if so turn it off temporarily
it's trying to go to the URL to do the tiff exploit.
if fails, you're still jailed.

100% WiFi. No encryption. I posted a pic 2 posts up of the error message I was getting on putjailbreak

Instead of dialinf *#307# again, just dial '0' and press CALL.
After that the phone will ring. Answer this ring,. Now put it on hold, the minute you do this, the phone will start ringing againg. This time you should decline the call.
After declining the call you will be brought to the phone book.

Does this method also patch the springboard file to allow for horizontal scrolling? (Independance does this by default when you use it to activate I think). Just curious, as that'd be nice

i had problems after running anysim etc. the manual way.

phone always wanted to get activated.

now i restored the 1.1.1 and than run Carnaval!

it worked like a champ and all my phones are fine

Yes it does. This a necessary step for getting 3d Party apps show in the SpringBoard.

Actually, SpringBoad has that feature already, the patch only make it possible to list more Apps that the oficial ones that ship with the phone.
