[OTB 1.1.3] Is downgrade bootloader necessary?
I'm planning to get an OTB 1.1.3 iPhone from the US now that ZiPhone is out.
I had a question, do I need to downgrade my bootloader to have an unlocked and jailbroken phone? Or is it optional?
I ask you this because I have my doubts about bricking the iPhone while downgrading the Bootloader.
So you tell me...
What are the pros and cons of downgrading the bootloader?
And is it safe?

you do not have to... you can unlock it, even with 4.6bl... however, to use the newest baseband, you will have to downgrade your bootloader to 3.9...

my phone is 3.9, so i have never downgraded a bootloader, but i have heard many successful stories... I have also not yet heard of any bricks... there is a certain amount of risk.... i would suggest for you to do your research and read a few tutorials first to know exactly what you are doing...

I've downgraded bootloaders many times with ZI2.0. Never had any issues.
I haven't heard of any others having problems either. YMMV.
