Ok very frustrating.... instructions as always on how to check the bootloader suck....

    been trying for 30 minutes

    # launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
    # bbupdater -v
    zsh: command not found: bbupdater

I have BSD and SSH installed the app installer way....

How on earth do I check it ??? what do I type bbupdater ????? ergggghhhh

    Yes 742 was US

Well not found it yet as everyone seems to assume it is clearly written out, lot's of poor instructions.

So bbupdater is part of the pack you download and you have to install it ???

Anyway in all the guides that have been written nobody spells out how to check it....

Hey I am not a computer science major but something tells me to just go by the week of production instead of going through all of that hassle. When in doubt, just WAIT...its doesnt hurt does it? :p

Soon enough the bootloader won't matter and we all get a simplier solution to unlock our 1.1.2 OTB iphones!! Just hang on tight!

OK Very important how to check your bootloader....

    You need ssh installed
    You need bsd installed
You need terminal or windows version of something like that
You need to install bbupdater from the secpack version of this not important
    Community Sources also

Place the bbupdater file into /usr/bin/ using cyberduck or alike

    So you ssh root@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

    then type yes

    then type password dottie

    then cd /usr/bin/

    then bbupdater -v

    output looks like this

    # bbupdater -v
    Resetting target...
    pinging the baseband...
    issuing +xgendata...
    firmware: DEV_ICE_MODEM_04.02.13_G
    eep version: EEP_VERSION:208
    eep revision: EEP_REVISION:1
    bootloader: BOOTLOADER_VERSION:4.6_M3S2

    >>>>

Now I know I am f'ed for now and can give up trying to unlock this iphone, again OTB Serial 742

My guess is that Apple changed the bootloaders on phones they had already produced similar to updating firmware on phones around the update to 1.1.1

    fruitpunch:
Please let us have more info on a 742 with BL4.6.
    When did you buy it?
    Where did you buy it?
Is it a 8G MA712LL model sold in US?
    Is it a refurbished item?

Please unstand that a lot of us are scared by your claim of 742 with BL4.6 and hesitated to get any new iPhones.
