Default OTB 1.1.2 H/W downgrade gone bad(software part), no BB.

    Hello,

I did the H/W downgrade process, and all went well up and until executing:
    sleep 10; iunew.

    in terminal it said:
    Ressetting the Baseband...Done
    Opened: /dev/tty.debug
    iUnlocker: tool by geohot
    Modified to erase
    Spamming AT, waiting for response

That is where it ended. it stayed there for over an hour. i then had to run out for a while(go to my own birthday party), and i left the phone running with terminal open, still at the above-message. Upon my return, my phone was off, completely off. I plugged n the power supply, and powered it up, and from that point, was not able to boot back into the springboard, in fact, it gave me some prompt text over black screen, telling me the state of the iphone being plugged into power/usb, and if i unplugged it, it would change the text saying so, etc. but would not boot into springboard. i tried everything, but could not get it pass that text screen. I could not upgrade to 1.1.2 using itunes, because it only recognized it as needing to be restored. So i tried to restore to 1.1.2, and the install would just keep going and going, but never completing/error'ing. I then tied to restore to 1.1.1, and it error'd with 1011 and replaced the command line text/black background screen with the iTunes logo/plug screen. I cannon restore to 1.0.2, and have not even tried with 1.1.3.

any advise how to get the baseband back onto the iPhone, so i can start over again with 1.1.1 and hardware unlock method? Any help greatly appreciated. Again, cannot get to springboard, cannot even get to slide to make call screen. At most, I can only get the iTunes logo/plug screen

I have both mac and pc.

    Eric

From what I see if you restore to 1.1.1 your phone stays in recovery mode but is usable because you get the iTunes logo/plug screen. When you get the iTunes logo/plug screen kick you phone out of recovery mode with ibrickr and hope you have wifi after that.

The iPhone in question does not have a baseband, so it cannot be 1.1.1 jail-broken via jailbreakme.com, because the alpha-nums do not work(*#307# - remember, it no longer has a baseband!!). I cannot get it to restore to 1.0.2, which the i could try the iBrickr route. so unless there is a way to write the baseband to this phone without using WiFi or iTunes, it is bricked. and that sucks. I have H/W a handful of phones the past 2 days, and i followed the instructions EXACTLY, yet it erred, and then went downhill very quickly.

ok, there is hope! after spending many hours trying to get an OTB 1.1.2 H/W downgraded iPhone gone bad without a baseband restored to 1.0.2, I finally succeeded.

I tried a number of things to somehow get the iPhone into a different mode. This included using another iPhone, connected to the computer at the same time, thus having two iPhones connected at once, naming the bad iPhone the same as the good iPhone, and starting the restore process on the good iPhone, and then unplugging the good iPhone immediately before the extraction process finished, immediately before the restore process commenced. The process would then continue for the bad iPhone, and would then end with a different error. The iTunes version was 7.4.x. I then removed iTunes, and every trace of it from an XP computer, including mobileDevice, and any config files in your docs and settings folder, etc. I installed iTunes 7.3.1.3, and then proceeded to open iBrickr, at which point the process with iBrickr FINALLY worked!! Prior to this, I could never get iBrickr to help in the 1.0.2 downgrade process, wherein it would end with the iPhone having the YELLOW TRIANGLE... it had always failed and the iPhone had always maintained the iTunes logo/plug. But this time, the yellow triangle, hence iBrickr was able to install the files it needed to, and thus I could PACPAY/iBrickr the iPhone, getting the 1.0.2 firmware installed, and iPhone jailbroken. Finally.

So, there IS hope folks. I am now starting the process of getting the baseband back onto the iPhone... I will report back with news once/if I have any. But ne thing for certain, I am glad to at least have 1.0.2 firmware back onto the iPhone. Even though baseband/gsm/wifi/etc. are still broken, it is now possible to read/write to the iPhone, meaning it is now possible to work towards a solution.

This particular iPhone is a week 45 OTB 1.1.2/4.6.

    Hi ericjarvies:

    A few questions:

    1) Which was the original BL/firmware version of the second iphone.
    2) to which version did you make the "UPGRADE" when boths iphones were plugged?
