Otb 1.1.2 -> 1.1.1..?
Holla out there :p..
Just searched around in here, couldn't really find something to answer my question.. so..
I was wondering.. Just ordered to iPhones from apple's online store. And I'm asuming they're going to arrive with FW 1.1.2, and the new bootloader (4.x) whatever..
My question is then, is it posssible for me to downgrade, and thereby getting a fully functionel iPhone?
Thanks in advance
Yeah you havent read very far!
You can unlock it to an O2 sim if thats what you have already, however you wont as yet be able to unlock to anysim! This is still being developed because of the new bootloader.
So yes you can have a fully functional phone if you're on O2 otherwise you basically have an ipod touch!
kingoftherodeo, you obviously have the answer, but you don't seem too keen on reading what is asked either... nothing points to the phone being used in O2 networks.
but still, you are right... currently, no way to get the phone and sms functions working on phones with the new bootloader. downgrading doesn't do any good as the new bootloader lacks the security hole that has made it possible for previous models to be unlocked and FW down/upgrades don't touch the bootloader. modifying it overall is a very risky business
though it is possible to get it working with approved carrier sims... so for exmaple in US any AT&T sims, pay as you go and other agreements etc, as normally you would need to sign up for a contract.
