i got a 44 week iphone with 1.1.2, but luckily 3.9 bootloader...
so i unlocked it and works perfectly...

today a friend brought two iphones from the US from week 41 and 43, both with 1.1.2 on it. i gues they are also from an att shop. sounds like apple really took old stock and put latest firmware on it to prevend more unlocks.

the question will be:

HOW do they flash the firmware and WHAT kind of bootloader has it?

what safest method would you recommend to find out? i am not willing to brick them cause they dont belong to me.

so downgrade to 1.1.1, jailbreak, bsd, open ssh, then rund putty on it. will this be a safe way or will the downgrade brick it caus its using another bootloader?

downgrade and jailbreak shouldn't brick it, as long as you follow the instructions carefully.
