I agree, you should probably try and find out how it was unlocked before modifying it.

I believe the only way is to use minicom. See this post from n000b:

the above stands for: anySIM 1.02, iUnlock, unlock.app, h/w unlock, etc.

    Code:
    +XLOCK: "PN",5,0,"PU",5,0,"PP",5,0,"PC",5,0,"PS",5,0
the above happens only on IPSF.

    Code:
    +XLOCK: "PN",1,0,"PU",5,0,"PP",5,0,"PC",5,0,"PS",5,0
the above happens only on anySIM 1.1 (or locked phones)
If you're unsure how to do this then I'd suggest asking nicely and maybe someone will write some step by step instructions for you.

Yes you can update. I had same problem.

Follow this http://iphone.ranova.org/index.shtml guide step by step. This will lead you through. You may face only one issue thats is, when you try to unlock as a last step, you may not find anysim using installer.app. This happened to me so use this guide at that moment http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthre...ighlight=idiot and *ONLY* follow the steps number 4 & 5.

I'm not a 100% sure about minicom. Perhaps some other guys could post some helpful information?

I did find a guide here (http://iphone.unlock.no/iunlock.htm) that uses minicom though. I'd recommend reading through it a couple of times. Pick out the minicom parts and give them a go.

I spent $600 on my phone. It came unlocked with 1.0.2. Could not find any info regarding previous method to unlock. Not able to use minicom as it always hanged and did not through any information.

I used above mentioned method and now I have 1.1.1 working perfectly 100%. Its up to you if you want to check minicom first. I too tried this to confirm everything but no success so I went ahead and selected "I don't know how it was unlocked!" during the unlock process on http://iphone.ranova.org/index.shtml.

you can find minicom in unlock packages posted on sticky.
