The details.... Started out with a 16gb iphone at 1.1.4 and then started to get the "Need Repair" message and then the greyed out wifi. Maybe Ziphone maybe not. Don't know and at this point don't really care. I read this, and just about every other forum upside down and inside out. Found the answers. Spent over 20 hours doing so and getting it all implemented. Good news......got it all working BUT had the IMEI 0049 thing happening. Everything including the phone worked. Read some more and found that the way to get rid of it (the 0049 IMEI) was to "virginize" which meant going back to 1.1.1. Easier said than done! iTunes took me to hell and back before I was able to restore it and even then it didn't quite do it but I used iLiberty to boot out of recovery mode, and lo and behold.....1.1.1! So I jailbreak etc and NO installer! I tried with both, iLiberty and Ziphone. Both unlocked and all, but neither installed the Apptap installer so I do it the old fashioned way......jailbreakme.com. Get the Virginizer installed and done and then restore back to 1.1.4. All is jailbroken and unlocked with the phone working but STILL the 0049 IMEI thing.

So now what? I'm out of ideas. Does the wrong IMEI even matter if the phone still works? I would really really appreciate any and all replies and advice. Ideally I'dlove to get the right IMEI back on it. I did try the fake IMEI on Ziphone and it worked but 0049 comes back.

So now I need a fix, or a bullet to put in my brain cuz I'm about done with this thing!
