He did this on his German Unlocked phone (which had not gone through the unlock process yet) and the Network Lock was already removed!!

What I mean by this is, he had not yet connected it to iTunes connected to the Internet at all when he check the XSIMSTATE!!

    The Answer was:

    +XLOCK: "PN",5,4,"PU",5,4,"PP",1,1,"PC",5,4,"PS",5,4

The command to query the Network Lock parameter (PN) is:

    AT+CLCK="PN",2

    And the answer was:
    +CLCK: 0

Even though the phone was still in a locked state as it had not been officially unlocked.

In fact Kiwi tested all of the parameters and it looks like Apple have switched from using "PN" to using "PP" because "PP" was the only one to respond with a "1".

    AT+CLCK="PP",2

    Gave the answer:
    +CLCK: 1

    .
so the PN has been changed to PP, okie i will test my 1.1.2 phone with a PP and post the result,i think it should be 0 since my phone is unlocked! right?

But isint weird even before the phone is unlocked its showing the state "PN 5,4" as unlocked, Sim invalid. Also if we see the result for "PP 1,1" which if we assume is the lock parameter now is showing Unlockable, Unknown is it because the PN command was already attempted? or was sim state run first? pls clarify

I guess the reason they switched it is related to the original observations by 977TT, where-by if he downgraded the phone, the unlock disappeared.

Had they left it as a simple Network Unlock, instead of the Provider Unlock, the unlock would have stayed put indefinitely and they obviously want more control over the unlocked handsets.

I guess that part sucks from apple's side since they are charging a permier for unlocked phone ,which is not truly unlocked, its debateble but ideally it should survive any thing i mean even forceful downgrades!

    Macnotes is reporting: http://www.macnotes.de/2007/12/04/ti...iphone-streit/

The decision is that the sales-model that T-Mobile is using is legal. Further details to follow. However, it is now also expected that the sale of the 999,- iPhone will stop.

    Hi there,
today I wanted to jump forward from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2. Everything with upgrading to 1.1.2 worked as expected. I now have a 4.02.xx Baseband, downgraded to 1.1.1 again (for OktoPrep etc.), did the *#307# trick as I did several times before.

What's different today is that jailbreakme.com actually doesn't seem to jailbreak the FW 1.1.1-Phone. Browser crashes as expected, the "Activate iPhone"-screen appears (with "incorrect SIM"), but what's missing is the freeze of the slider animation and the reboot that should take place subsequently. Manual reboot doesn't help, either, so I suppose that no jailbreak happened.

I gave it one more try by calling 0 -> answer -> hold -> decline -> selecting contact Z with said URL to jailbreakme.com. Abort at calling 0 with error message "call failed". No emergency calls anymore.

After that I did a new restore to 1.1.1 to have the FW fresh again. I was able again to place an emergency call and to the *#307#-method. But again, got stuck at that point that no jailbreak took place (se above).

Any ideas? Forwarding pointers to threads where I could dig into this problem?

Thanks a lot, esp. 997TT for your time to compile that great guide.

    Hy there!

Here's what I did, becaus I had the same Problem:
Leave your Phone connected to iTunes and iTunes open while open jailbreakme.com. I have no idea why, but this works for me every time...
