Official 1.1.3 Upgrader is FREEZING
I've seen people complaining about this in different threads on this and other forums, but no response. So I'm creating a new thread and hoping for specific replies.
When trying to use the "Official 1.1.3 Upgrader" from DevTeam (installed via Installer), the process just FREEZES.
What is happening: First, the download freezes. If you terminate the download (by pressing the Home button) and open "Upgrade" again, it will resume.
It may or may not hang again, and you may or may not have to repeat the above.
After a while, it starts "Extracting restore ipsw: xx %". This will ALSO freeze. If you close and resume just like before, it will resume from where it stopped (46%, for example). But it will freeze again at 73% and the wierd thing it is that it will pass the 100% mark. I've seen a guy saying it went over 400% !!!
What are we supposed to do in such cases? I've used this upgrade twice (two 46 week iPhones) with no problems (same wifi network). Now it's causing me problems (a 47 week iPhone).
What to do?
**EDIT** This is happening on a 1.1.2 OTB unlocked through the i.unlock.no Installer method, and after running iWorld.

*FIXED* READ ALL THE WAY BEFORE TRYING STUFF FOR YOURSELF.
There's a simple tutorial to fix this on the end.
I've digged in into this one. Installed BSD Subsystem + OpenSSH and started analyzing stuff.
What I can see:
1) The Upgrade application will download the 1.1.3 IPSW at /var/private/restore.zip
# ls -la /private/var/restore.zip
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 169950551 Feb 12 02:18 /private/var/restore.zip
2) So, I've decided to check the MD5 checksum of this file, which came to be:
# md5 restore.zip
3) That's not the right md5 for the 1.1.3 IPSW. Indeed, testing the archive would bring up errors:
# unzip -t /private/var/restore.zip
error: invalid compressed data to inflate
testing: 022-3745-250.dmg OK
testing: 022-3748-284.dmg ^C
4) I've replaced restore.zip with a local copy (this is the md5 sum on my mac):
$ md5 iPhone1,1_1.1.3_4A93_Restore.ipsw
MD5 (iPhone1,1_1.1.3_4A93_Restore.ipsw) = d62083c7bf3f93d30fce6b2161fd5efe
$scp iPhone1,1_1.1.3_4A93_Restore.ipsw email@example.com:/private/var/restore2.zip
iPhone1,1_1.1.3_4A93_Restore.ipsw 100% 162MB 754.4KB/s 03:40
5) Back to the iPhone...
# md5 restore2.zip
6) Now I just replaced the files and resumed the process by clicking on Upgrade on the SpringBoard. Everything finished up beautifully.
IN A NUTSHELL:
If your "1.1.3 Official Upgrader" is hanging up and you have to close it and resume, getting wierds 300% extracting firmware, here's what you have to do:
1) Install the BSD Basesystem and OpenSSH.
2) SSH to your phone (root/alpine).
3) Remove the file /private/var/restore.zip and everything in the /private/var/x/ directory
4) SCP the 1.1.3 IPSW to /private/var/restore.zip and leave it there.
5) Run the Upgrade.app again from your SpringBoard and it should finish.
If you need some specific help getting these steps done, reply and I or someone else will walk you through.
With the release of ziphone.
you don't need to go all those above anymore.
Just update or restore your iphone to 1.1.3 thru itunes to get all corrected firmware and base band.
Depending on your iphone either 3.9BL or 4.6 BL
with 3.9 BL then install BSD sub and anySim1.1.3 to unlock ----->perfect unlock 1.1.3 with the right baseband 4.03.13G
-with the 4.6BL then use ziphone to unlock, but u will have a baseband of 4.02.13G
