    Default Not being able to restore anymore.

    Hi,
    I've reach a point that I don't know what else to do. I'm pretty knowledgeable on how to downgrade, upgrade, activate, unlock and etc... but I very welcome any suggestion on what is going on with my iphone.
    I've tried using Independence 1.2.4, iBrick, Funtastic (all on Mac, PC and Mac running parallel). I put the phone on recovery mode and DFU mode, but always when iTunes says "Preparing iphone ..." it seems that the iphone disconnects from the computer and ends up with error 1604 or 1603 (tried iTunes 7.4 and 7.3).
    Just before shows up "Preparing iPhone ..." the iphone screen shows the Apple Logo, but doesn't show the spiral wheel on the bottom.
    Any suggestion will be gladly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Marcelo

    I'm having the same problem. I should have stayed with 1.0.2 it was working fine.

    Does an OPTION+CLICK restoration without the phone being in DFU mode or restore mode, etc. (meaning just plugged into your Mac/iTunes and OPTION+CLICK restored) have the same undesired effect?

    Also I have found if you try to restore with firmware other than the original it may give you issues - try restoring with 1.1.1 - If it works do the unlocking procedure again - MINUS the actual unlocking, as your phone is already unlocked
    Enjoy!

    Tried restoring w/ 1.0.2 and 1.1.1, but what is seems is that it doesn't matter, because the computer loose connection with the iphone on the beggining of the "preparing iphone ..." fase. I can see this when I'm trying on a PC computer because the USB disconected sound happens right there. And no spinning wheel. If I reset it goes back to the itunes/Sync Cable logo.

    Just tried.
    Same thing happened, iPhone shows iTunes/Sync Cable logo and Independence says "Connected to iPhone in recovery mode".

    have you try these step:
    This is a fix if you get a Unknown Error (1604) screen.

    * Turn off the iphone and pull the usb and replug from the computer
    * Uninstall iTunes 7.4
    * Re-Install iTunes
    * Restart your computer if prompted
    * Pull the SIM card out of the top of the iphone
    * Get the Yellow Triangle of Death or The Cable to iTunes screen[Hold the home and power buttons for max 30 seconds]
    * Plug in your phone and open iTunes
    * Hit Restore(It should be working by now...)
    * Re-insert your SIM card into your iPhone.
    * Re-activate your iPhone.
    * Restore your data from your latest update

    its help me fix my 1604 error.
