No Wi-Fi, analysis and solution?
Question:
Is it possibile
to copy the Bluetooth value into the Wi-Fi address field?
Why this question:
(sorry for my bad english and the long message)
A lot of people are having trouble with the “No Wi-Fi” issue and after I’ve spent lot of days reading many threads in several forums, i can tell that there is no real solution for this problem.
Our “Wi-Fi address” has a blank value and, so far as I know, this is normally (for computers and network boards) an hardware value inside the hardware itself. If this value disappears should be only a software problem.
One month ago I activate, jailbreak and unlock my 1.0.2 OTB with anySim 1.1 and after few days the Wi-Fi addresss went blank (I presume after a simple reboot). My last working state was 1.1.1 FW.
After the “Wi-Fi” debacle, I try to upgrade to 1.1.2 (with iTunes Restore) just to see if the new Baseband could help: really not!
But in the Wi-Fi address fileld appear a “N/A” (not available) value instead the blank value; That’s why the upgrade procedute try to copy the wi-fi address but don’t really grab the correct value…
Then I downgrade to 1.0.2 thrue iNdependence and suddenly the Wi-Fi address goes fron “N/A” to a blank value.
iNdependence change the value, but he don’t care about the real hw value.
Then in both cases either ITunes (with Restore) and iNdependence don’t retrieve the real mac address/wi-fi address.
Then, as the Bluetooth value has the same value as the mac address, why could’nt be possibile to restore the right value on it?
It should be done via iNdependence o through a simple patch?
(Mac and Windows)
I hope that some Guru’s can help us called “No Wi-Fi peoples”, please
Thanks
