Default No Service, Hardware related? Need help Gurus

I'm having the No Service issue with my 1.1.1 OTB that I really need some help with. I'll outline the steps that I went through to unlock the phone...

    1) Used Tiff exploit to get to Jailbreakme.com.
    2) Jailbroken phone, installed BSD, openSSH, anySim 1.1
    3) Ran anySim, reported success.
    4) Patched lockdownd file.

Boot up the phone, I have No Service..no carrier logo, nada. The weird thing is the phone doesn't seem to give off any speaker feedback when I place it near the speakers while "searching..." for service. Also, when dialing the phone seems to lag and when I hit the digits, I sometimes get no sound at all.

Unfortunately I don't know anybody with AT&T/Cingular to test their sim cards with..but I will try to find someone.

Does this sound like a hardware issue? Or software? I restored, jailbroke, and ran CARNIVAL the second time..yet still have the same error.

    What to do?

    btw:
    Modem firmware: 04.01.13_G
    IMEI is matching
    WiFi works fine

    Many thanks for the help.

Just upgrade with 111 again and do the same process.
Anysim will say it cant unlock.
Reset the and you will get signal.

I'm sorry can you please clarify? Are you telling me to restore, re-jailbreak/activate, then run anySim 1.1 again?

I was under the impression that anySim 1.1 was only meant to be run once.

Some of my friends have the same problem as yours.
But they happen this after when he changed his cracked screeen for a new one.
I also think you run the anysim just for once, dont attemp to do that before it has been proved safe by the mass.

I have the exact the same problem with op, no service, I have tried every method in this forum, none of them works. I have run unlock-restore(revirginizer)-unlock in both firmware version 1.02 and 1.1.1. I suspect this iphone has hardware problem.

IMEI matches the numbers on the back of iphone, and iPhone can recognize SIM card's phone number (Tmobile), and when I insert Tmobile SIM card, there will be a new voice mail.

If anybody has fixed a problem like this, please share me some idea, Thanks.

    Hey guys,

same thing happened to one of the 1.1.1 iphones while in that "lockdown" copy step, I got no service. Tried rebooting but nope, same as before.

What I did was installing BSD Subsystem. Somehow, I got the Service after the installation.

No idea how it solved the no service problem, but it worked. Just try, I hope it works.

    Cheers!

    Hi, 0n7R,

Your problem should not be the same as ours, you got the problem before your installed BSD Subsystem, that means you didn't get your iPhone unlocked, after you installed BSD, then it unlocked SIM card for you.

I have tried using INDEPENDENCE, Jailbreakme.com and any other methods in this forum, following exact procedure.

the iPhone should be unlocked, in the setting, there is a Carrier menu item, and in Phone contacts, it show the phone number for the SIM card.

BUT, it always shows no service. nerver get SIGNAL.

I'm thinking about running oneSIM, which is supposed to undo the work of anySim 1.1, restore, then re-do the whole process once more (including anySIM).

But before I do this, is there an easier/full proof method to undo anySIM? I'm also concerned about the unlock count, how can I be sure my unlock count will not increase?

Lastly, if I do have a hardware problem, how would I go about getting it worked on by Apple. Would it be possible?

    Thanks
