i need some help.. i think my situation is helpless but nevertheless ill ask for some help lol...k ive unlocked around 7 iphones all using different methods...so this is my story...
its my friends iphone who bought it back in early september and i didnt even know about anySIM or any free method to unlock the phone back then.. the only method i knew about was IPSF... so we both used paid and used that method... mine was perfectly fine and was working after the process...however he ran the software it clearly said unlock successful but after it said NO SERVICE...thats when i started looking up different solutions and ended up finding this site..which btw is very helpful..back then nobody knew if you can revirginize either of the methods.. i used some different guides found on iphone.unlock.no telling me to upload certain files run bbupdater.. nothing has helped.. i even ran anysim 1.0.2 it also said unlock successful but after the process it also said no service.. so my friend gave up on it and just used it as an itouch...today i saw him again and decided to try to virginize it and update it to 1.1.1 and try to unlock it again...i used the virginze process from the sources found on i.unlock.no .. everything went smooth it said it was a virgin but deep inside i know that technically its not because IPSF zeroed out his tokens.. anyways updated to 1.1.1 jailbroke it.. insterted a rogers sim.. and it said this sim is not supported or whatever the message says when the phone is locked... so i ran anySIM 1.1 it did its thing and after it said unlock successful and i got an E at the top (the edge symbol) towards the end of the process.. i got really happy thinking that the phone is finally gonna come to life.. but after a restart it was back to NO SERVICE..
so here i am stuck again on the same thing.. now im thinking its not the baseband thats corrupt with the NO SERVICE phones.. but i have no idea about this stuff...i just know what im doing i just dont know how its done...
tomorrow i will upgrade to 1.1.2 and then try to unlock in 1.1.1 using anysim 1.2.1U or whatever it is..but i really doubt that it will change anything...
any suggestions on what i should do?? or if anyone needs any testing done on this semi bricked phone im wore than welcome to help... and another thing.. if anyone is willing to send me an original sim from either 02 iphone or Tmobile in UK and Germany respectively ill be more than happy to try to activate it and see if i can use an US iphone with 1.1.2 to activate on a european plan...(since i still cant seem to find a solution on weather it is possible some people are saying that they have done it but i heard from others otherwise)
