Newb Question- Can't get the Phone into restore mode
So here's the scenerio:
I just got my iPhone yesterday and was just looking at it, and tried to put it into restore mode (big mistake) without having it plugged into the dock.
So I followed the steps and installed iTunes 7.3.2 and plugged it into the dock, I did the restore method again by holding down PWR + Home buttons for 10 secs, and windows detects it. (Great)
Now with iTunes open and after I try and restore I get this error "the iPhone 'iPhone' could not be restored. an unknown error occurred(-8).
what can I do to fix this? My phone won't even turn on now and its just a black screen

Try opening itunes, plug in your iphone, and holding both power and home buttons down for a long time...this usually works.
if not, download itunes 7.4.1.2 here : http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite....TunesSetup.exe
uninstall your old itunes, reinstall the one from the link above, then try and connect agian.

Ok I was able to get the restore logo back on, but am still receiving an error. Do I have to upgraded to 7.4.1.2 cuz everywhere I'm reading is telling me to use version 7.3.2. Does it make a difference

Ok, My fault I wasn't hitting shift when I clicked restore. But after doing some more reading I found out it can't be on the revovery screen however, but rather the blank screen.
New Problem. When I try and put it into restore mode, after windows detects it I get the error: The iphone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred(-14)
I've tried searching the forums but can't find that error code...
