I just got an Iphone and am having a hell of a time jailbreaking and activating.

I'm following the guide at
Complete Guide: Jailbreak & Unlock iPhone 2.2 (2G) using QuickPwn (For Windows) | Simon Blog

and when I get to step 2 I cannot get the refresh button to even appear. When I plug the iphone into my computer and itunes I get a message to activate. If I cancel it I get a generic message saying activation canceled. But I never get any options to interact with my device directly.

Help please.

To see the restore button on your 2G phone put it in DFU mode
