New 1.1.3 otb and 1.1.1 unlocked with ipsf
hi i just got new iphone with 1.1.3 and i really confuse and dont know which method to use.
i got another iphone with 1.1.1 which unlocked with ipsf and i want to upgrade it too to 1.1.3 but dont know which method is for me.
i know there is the geo's like ipsf method, the ziphone and the independence. which one is the best for the future's updates that not become a brick like some had with anysim unlock.
thanks

please if someone can guide me what to do i will appreciate it.

if you have a 1.1.1 with ipsf you should just update to 1.1.4 and use independence to install ssh and add signal.app
Unlocked on 1.1.4 [04 04 05] using GeoHots IPSF
PWNED
If you need help IM me

thank you, and there is no other way to use 1.1.4 without signal.app?
and what about the 1.1.3 otb, which method should i use?

well with 1.1.4 signal.app you can have it run on every reboot auto and you can hide signal so you dont even know its there =] for the 1.1.3 otb you should run ziphone 2.5 "do it all"
Unlocked on 1.1.4 [04 04 05] using GeoHots IPSF
PWNED
If you need help IM me

thank you.
another question, ziphone its like anysim that in every firmware i need to repeat unlock it or its like ipsf style?
and which unlock independence use?
thanks

is ziphone is like anysim or it works differently?
should i use geo's method cause if i understood correctly ziphone downgrade the bb to 3.9 which is not so good.
or should i wait for the ultimate solution cause i dont want to do something and when there will be future upgrades i will have problems.
thanks

If your phone is IPSF unlocked then simply upgrade and use Signal.app and it will work perfectly like I did to my 1.0.2 OTB tonight when I upgraded to 1.1.4.
I would avoid unlocking it with any other method including ZiPhone as its not needed and there is always a chance you will mess it up... add to that the fact that when the next firmware update comes out you will have to unlock it again it seems a lot of hassle when signal.app will make the IPSF unlock work everytime you reboot it automatically!
There is a great step by step guide on hackthatphone.com - it is using a mac but you could easily swap independence for ziphone to jailbreak/activate and install SSH using installer and SSH signal.app onto the phone using any windows cliet such as WinSCP... but if you have a mac you can do it exactly as it shows on the site.
I used this method on my phone and it works perfectly!

As far as 1.1.3 out the box I would use the ZiPhone unlock method but it WILL downgrade the bootloader but you will end up on the same baseband as your meant to. Independence will downgrade the baseband to 1.1.2 version which will not work with google maps locate me natively.
AnySIM and ZiPhone's unlocking methods are both undone when upgrading (although I think they survive restores).

thank you very much i really appreciate it.
so should i wait a while before unlocking 1.1.3 otb until there will be another way to unlock it or these are the only ways to do it?

My understanding is as things are that the only way to have an unlock on 4.6 is to have 1.1.2 baseband or downgrade to 3.6 and then unlock using the ZiPhone method (which I am unsure if that method is AnySIM based or GunLock based) - of course if you downgrade your bootloader then you may as well use IPSF so its restore resistant!
The truth of it as far as I can see is that on 4.6 it really is a question of how much of a risk your willing to take - loads of people have downgraded their BL with no issues but some have no Wi-Fi now! and can't fix it!
In which case maybe just using Independence and going down to 1.1.2 baseband on the latest firmware is the safest bet - but then again it work perfectly for you with ZiPhone!
Who knows? its luck I guess - I am sure your aware of the whole JB/Unlock through iTunes video that has been going around which may appear soon - I don't know when as I am NOT anyone with any knowledge - but that does seem that it may have a different method of unlocking but who knows when that will be released if it is released.
So safest bet is Independence unlock but its your choice!
