Default needs repair, error 1011, no wifi, no sound, baseband bootloader too old

After 3 days and a thousand searches I'm out of ideas. There seems to be several of us having this problem and we haven't found a solution.

My phone was working fine for over a month and then suddenly wouldn't power on so at least in my case it wasn't a mod gone bad.

When I try to restore with 1.1.2 and 1.1.1 it fails with error 1603

When I try to restore with 1.0.2 it fails with error 1011

If I downgrade to 1.0.2 with iBrickr it will always stop at the yellow triangle until I go through the activate process with pacay, then will boot up ok, but get "repair needed" message.

I stopped CommCenter. When I run Ieraser it always hangs at "waiting for data"

If I run ./bbupdater -v it will say "pinging the baseband", then "baseband unresponsive to pinging"

If I try to update the baseband firmware it will try 10 times and come back "baseband bootloader is too old. update to 1.8 or later" Same if I try to update the baseband bootloader (bbupdater -l BOOT03.09_M3S2.fls)

I've tried going through the whole process several times with each version of the firmware, starting with 1.1..2 and 1.1.1, then starting with those and downloading, and just about every combination I can think of. Nothing works. I'm thinking a comm board may be my only fix. Anything I've missed?

Also, is it possible to search this forum for a phrase instead of individual words?

    thanks in advance...

I've been google bashing and theres nothing much coming up the only post I can find that isn't a total dead end is this one below.

Also Error 1603 shows in apple blog with most ppl returning there phone for repair

iphone unbrickr method(no service or call failed)

    From http://davedave85.blogspot.com

1 first unload commcenter with this command
    launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist

    2.enter to minicom and type
    AT+CLCK=”PN”,0,”00000000″
    it say error…. is OK!!

3.type AT+CLCK=”PN”,2 it say 0, (this show u have unlocked iphone)

    4. run bbupdater -v

5.upload to the baseband this file ICE03.14.08_G.eep using this command
    bbupdater -e ICE03.14.08_G.eep

6.restart the iphone and load the commcenter with this command
    launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist

7.enjoy your unbricked iphone!!!… and unlocked of course!

Orion007 Pd: You get the .eep file from the apple 1.0.2 full restore image

pd2: if u have this error

Error: Baseband bootloader is too old; update to 1.8 or later and try again

    follow this step:
bbupdater -f ICE03.14.08_G.fls (it locks again the iphone)
    restore….
when u have the screen activation with the world back and it say incorrect sim but u have the at&t sim dont worry, activate it and do all the steps for unlock it again…

    when u have it unlocked
    follow the guide unbricked iphone

IF U DONT HAVE THIS ERROR DONT UPLOAD THE FLS BECAUSE IT LOCK THE IPHONE AGAIN.

and ppl remember LOAD THE COMMCENTER if u dont do it u NEVER have signal even is u reboot the iphone u need to load because it dont load automatically.

Well at least I've push you back to the top of the New post

Hope some1 can help you fix this problem

    To fix 1603 error.
Take the sim out of your iphone. Don't put any sim card in there.
    Remove the usb cable.
Uninstall your itunes. Restart your computer.
Look for iTunes version 7.4.1 and install that one.
Click here for older itunes version.
Now plug the usb cable in.
Put your iphone into recovery mode with black screen by holding home button and sleep button for 10 sec then release sleep button and keep holding home button for 10 sec.
Now restore the firmware 1.1.2. You should known how right?
Itunes will say that you need to have the sim at the end. But it works.
